The leaders of the European Union (EU) member states and the countries of the African Union (AU) will meet in Luanda, Angola for the seventh EU-African Union summit. This multilateral summit will be co-chaired by the President of Angola, João Lourenço, and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
The Summit will build on the outcomes of the recent EU-AU Ministerial held in Brussels in May 2025, where ministers reaffirmed their commitment to closer ties between the two continents, guided by shared values, mutual interests and a joint vision for sustainable growth and stability.
Marking 25 years of EU-AU partnership, the Summit comes at a pivotal time as Angola holds the rotating African Union presidency. Leaders will focus on strengthening cooperation in key areas such as peace and security, economic integration, trade, multilateralism, green development, digitalisation, migration, mobility and human development.

Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security is commemorated annually by the African Union to raise awareness of food insecurity and malnutrition in Africa and to mobilise resources and commitments to end hunger.
In 2025, the 16th commemoration will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, together with the 21st CAADP Partnership Platform. The event aims to accelerate progress towards the Malabo Declaration goal of ending hunger by 2025, while improving nutrition and health outcomes across the continent.
